With Election Day just three weeks away, both Democratic nominee Joe Biden and President Trump have been fighting for older voters. While left-leaning articles highlight that Biden made his most direct appeal yet to older voters on Tuesday, right-leaning articles highlight that Biden claimed that Trump sees seniors as “forgettable.”

The Washington Post published a left-leaning article highlighting that Biden made his most direct appeal yet to older voters on Tuesday, as he visited a senior center in Florida a day after Trump visited the state and argued that Trump has turned his back on older Americans. The power of seniors is especially pronounced in Florida, as voters 65 and older made up 21 percent of the electorate in 2016.

USA Today published a centrist video that highlights Joe Biden courting Florida seniors, betting they’ve become disenchanted with President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Biden recalled when Trump was at a campaign rally the day before coronavirus deaths reached 200,000, where Trump claimed the virus affects “virtually nobody.”

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that Biden claimed that Trump sees seniors as “forgettable” and accused Trump of raiding the Medicare trust fund. Biden also charged that the president “says he wants to lower drug prices, but hasn’t done a single thing to do it.”
