According to a new poll from Roanoke College released on Tuesday, former Vice president Joe Biden holds a double-digit lead over President Trump in Virginia. While left-leaning articles highlight that Biden’s campaign is exploring more paths to victory in the Electoral college than other Democratic nominees, right-leaning articles highlight Biden’s favorable and unfavorable ratings among Virginia voters.

The New York Times published a left-leaning article highlighting that there are signs Biden’s campaign is exploring more paths to victory in the Electoral college than recent Democratic nominees. Over the weekend, Doug Sosnik, Bill Clinton’s White House political director, also suggested that the economic and health effects of the coronavirus could strengthen Biden’s hand in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

A centrist article by The Hill highlights that the Roanoke College poll shows Biden with the support of 51 percent of Virginia voters, while Trump trails at 39 percent. The article also notes that Trump’s overall job approval has remained steady at 36 percent since February, while a majority of Virginia voters say they disapprove of the job he’s doing in the White House.

Fox News published a right-leaning article highlighting that President George Bush was the last Republican nominee to carry Virginia in a presidential election. The survey also indicates that Biden has a 36 percent favorable and a 39 percent unfavorable rating among Virginia voters.
