Joe Biden is demanding Facebook crack down on false information, including from President Trump. While left-leaning articles highlight that Biden aides mocked Facebook’s response, right-leaning articles highlight that Trump campaign manager wants the news media to show Biden’s unscripted events in their entirety.

A left-leaning article by CNN highlights that Biden’s latest campaign battle with Facebook comes a week after Biden’s campaign spent about $5 million on Facebook ads, as he sharpened criticism of Trump’s response to the protests. Biden aides mocked Facebook’s response. Biden’s communications director Bill Russo said the company was basically saying "There's an election coming in November, and we will continue to amplify content that confuses people about how to participate in it."

NPR published a centrist article reporting that Biden is urging his supporters to sign an open letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg calling on Facebook to reject political ads with false claims and apply its existing rules against threats and voting misinformation to all users. The article notes that while Biden is calling for more fact-checking, Trump recently signed an executive order that attempts to strip long-held legal protections from online platforms if they fact-check content.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that Trump campaign manager Parscale suggests that national news media “carry Biden’s remarks and unscripted events in their entirety.” The article notes that much of the Trump campaign’s strategy to defeat Biden is to question his mental capacity.
