While left-leaning articles highlight that House impeachment managers used Trump’s Twitter blitz to prove that Trump was behind the January 6th attack, right-leaning articles highlight that Republicans accused Democrats of playing dirty at the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that in their efforts to prove that Trump was behind the January 6th attack, House impeachment managers aired a Trump Twitter blitz where he said, “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” House managers also played recordings of officers’ chilling pleas for backup as chaos unfolded around them.

USA Today published a centrist article reporting that managers highlighted several videos of unseen security camera footage from the January 6 storming of Capitol Hill. However, Trump’s legal team wasn’t swayed by the footage played, with lawyer Bruce Castor saying there was nothing new that they didn’t already know.

A right-leaning article by New York Post highlights that Republicans accused Democrats of playing dirty at the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said that Democrats left out a line from Trump’s January 6th speech where he said, “Peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”
