The debate on the border crisis continues this week. While left-leaning articles highlight that the Biden administration is in an escalating battle with Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbot over a state plan to close shelters that house roughly 4,500 unaccompanied immigrant children, right-leaning articles highlight that Representative Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, slammed Harris’ trip to the southern border last week.

Politico published a left-leaning article reporting that the Biden administration is in an escalating battle with Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbot over a state plan to close shelters that house roughly 4,500 unaccompanied immigrant children. Abbott plans to revoke the licenses of any shelter that continues to serve migrant kids beginning August 31.

Newsweek published a centrist article reporting that Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas is defending the vice president’s border trip to El Paso over other crisis areas in Texas. Mayorkas said that El Paso is one of the “busiest of the nine sectors across the southwest border.”

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that Representative Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, slammed Harris’ trip to the southern border last week. He argued that the VP made it “pretty obvious” the Biden administration does not want to solve the migrant crisis.
