On Wednesday, President Trump tweeted that the White House coronavirus task force would “continue on indefinitely,” but with a different focus and composition. Top health official Anthony Fauci is also set to testify in front of the Senate next week. While left-leaning articles highlight that Trump blocked Fauci from testifying in front of the House, right-leaning articles highlight that the last time Fauci testified he opposed the administration.

The New York Times published a left-leaning article highlighting that President Trump said Fauci would appear next week before a panel in the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate, but could not testify to the Democratic-led House of Representatives. Trump claims that Democrats in the House “don’t want us to succeed,” and that the House “is a bunch of Trump haters.”

A centrist article by NPR reports that Trump told reporters on Tuesday that the coronavirus task force would focus more on safety and opening. A senior White House official said that the task force would also be winding down and meeting less frequently, but doctors and scientists on the task force would continue to advise the White House on medical guidelines.

New York Post published a right-leaning article highlighting that last week the White House blocked Fauci from appearing as a witness before Congress, but Trump on Tuesday reversed that decision. The article notes that the last time Fauci testified before the House Oversight Committee in March, he countered the administration and said the federal government failed when it came to testing.
