More than 100 of the late Senator John McCain’s aides endorsed Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the 2020 race in a new attack advert. While left-leaning articles highlight that the list of signatories range from chiefs of staff to junior aides, right-leaning articles highlight that former Senator Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., defended his decision to publicly endorse Biden for president.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that more than 100 former staff members for late Senator John McCain are supporting Biden, as the list of signatories include a range of people from chiefs of staff in McCain’s Senate office to junior aides on his campaigns. While the statement alone is unlikely to affect the presidential race, the allied Republican group is hoping to capitalize on it by airing a news television ad in Arizona, a highly competitive state.

A centrist article by Newsweek highlights that Republican Voters Against Trump released an attack advert titled “Country First” on YouTube on Thursday morning, which has picked up a little more than 10,000 views so far. The advert closes with an image of the late Senator John McCain and Biden together with the words “country over party” between them.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that former Senator Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., defended his decision to publicly endorse Democratic candidate Joe Biden for president, stating that Biden knows “how to compromise.” Flake said he believes Biden will preserve the public space so that “we can go back to disagreeing about policy.”
