We ran the numbers: There are 655 news articles covering this topic. 38% (247) are left leaning, 55% (357) center, 8% (51) right leaning.

The most recent Fox News poll shows that a majority of respondents, 51%, are in favor and impeaching President Trump and removing him from office, with another 4% in favor of impeachment without removal from office.

Released on Wednesday, the poll also shows that 40% of respondents do not support impeachment -- down five percentage points from the same poll in July. The poll surveyed 1,003 registered voters between October 6-8 and corroborates similar polls from Quinnipiac, The Washington Post, and NBC/Wall Street Journal that showed majority support for impeachment.

In response to the recent polling results from Fox News Trump said, “Fox has changed. My worst polls have always come from Fox.”

A left-leaning article from The New York Times focuses on both the meeting of Attorney General William P. Barr and media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Trump’s recent criticism of Fox News. Barr’s meeting with Murdoch was held at Murdoch’s New York home but it’s “unclear if anyone else attended or what was discussed.” Additionally, the NYT reports that Trump believes Fox News has become more critical of him, citing the network’s most recent poll as evidence. Following the release of the poll the President tweeted: “From the day I announced I was running for President, I have NEVER had a good @FoxNews Poll. Whoever their Pollster is, they suck.”

Centrist viewpoints like those expressed in an NPR article highlight the mechanism behind the latest polls results -- a swing from independents. NPR reports that, in September, independents disapproved of the impeachment inquiry by a 50-44% margin. However, independents now favor the inquiry by a similar margin of 51-44%. NPR also reports that Republicans are firmly defend the President with nearly “9 in 10 disapproving” of the impeachment inquiry.

The Daily Caller published a right-leaning article discusses how former White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders denounced the latest Fox News poll while appearing on Fox News. When asked about the polls findings Sanders said, “I think that impeachment is very bad for our country. But frankly, it has not been bad so far for Republican fundraising or candidate recruitment. I think those two things are infinitely more important than a poll a year out.” Finally, Sanders also said that she expects that Trump will be fully vindicated on the “fake Ukraine scandal like he was on the fake Russia scandal.”
