On Thursday, a group of Republican senators sent a letter to the White House calling on Biden to back down from his COVID-19 vaccine mandate policies. While left-leaning articles highlight that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he would call state lawmakers back to work early to pass legislation to combat coronavirus vaccine mandates, right-leaning articles highlight that DeSantis won’t back down when it comes to fighting the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

A left-leaning article by The Washington Post highlights that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he would call state lawmakers back to work early to pass legislation to combat coronavirus vaccine mandates. DeSantis has for weeks criticized White House plans to require vaccinations.

The Hill published a centrist article reporting that the group was led by Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.). The group claimed the administration’s executive order requiring all federal employees and contractors to be vaccinated and new rules that will require many companies to implement coronavirus vaccination or testing protocols are unconstitutional.

A right-leaning article by The Washington Examiner highlights that DeSantis won’t back down when it comes to fighting the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. DeSantis’ call to hold the session does not require approval from the state Senate president or state House speaker.
