On Monday, three House Republicans introduced a resolution to censure and condemn Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley for “inciting anti-Semitic attacks across the United States.” While left-leaning articles highlight that conservative politicians continue to cast Omar as hateful, right-leaning articles highlight that that 12 Jewish Democrats have condemned Omar’s remarks.

A left-leaning article by The Huffington Post highlights conservative politicians continue to cast Omar as hateful and misrepresent her calls to equally apply rights standard to all parties as attempts to single out Jews. Many attacks also treat Omar as alien, as she is a Black Muslim woman expressing sentiments considered to be “un-American.”

The Hill published a centrist article reporting that the resolution cites a number of incidents involving the four Democratic lawmakers, including Omar’s equation of war crimes committed by the U.S. and Israel to those by the Taliban and Hamas. The resolution also cites incidents where the four lawmakers refer to Israel as an “apartheid state.”

A right-leaning article by The New York Post highlights that 12 Jewish Democrats have condemned Omar’s remarks, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued a statement in conjunction with other leaders slapping down on Omar’s comments. The resolution also points to Tlaib’s accusation that Israel is guilty of “ethnic cleansing” against Palestinians.
