U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release a redacted version of the search warrant affidavit used to search Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. While left-leaning articles focus on the continued legal troubles of the former president, right-leaning articles focus on the details of the decision by Reinhart.

USA Today published a centrist article reporting on how Trump called on social media for the release of the affidavit but the DOJ argues that releasing it will hurt its investigation. The article also notes how both Republican and Democrat lawmakers want more information about the search.

A left-leaning article from Politico discusses how Trump expected to receive answers about why the FBI searched his home and a swift end to the investigation but, instead, was told that “the feds are just getting started.” The article highlights other legal controversies that Trump has been a part of since he entered the Washington political sphere.

A right-leaning article from Fox News discusses how Judge Reinhart said he would release a portion of the redacted affidavit. However, the DOJ asked the judge to keep the documents under seal to “protect the integrity of an ongoing law enforcement investigation that implicates national security.”
