According to the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, almost 6 in 10 Americans say they blame President Trump for the violent insurrection that took place on January 6th. While left-leaning articles highlight that the vast majority of Americans say that they oppose the actions of the rioters, right-leaning articles highlight that polls indicate only 8% of Republican voters support the impeachment of the President and his removal from office.

A left-leaning article by The Washington Post highlights that the vast majority of Americans say that they oppose the actions of the rioters who stormed and ransacked the Capitol on January 6th. Almost 9 in 10 Americans oppose the storming of the capitol, with 8 in 10 saying they strongly oppose the attack.

NPR published a centrist article reporting that Americans are split on whether Congress should continue to take action against Trump after he leaves office next week. 58% of respondents said Trump is to blame either a “great deal” or a “good amount” for the violence at the Capitol, while 40% said “not much.”

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that polls indicate that only 8% of Republican voters support the impeachment of the President and his removal from office. The 8% who support the impeachment of Trump are identical to the 8% of Republicans who said the same thing about the president’s previous impeachment by House Democrats over the Ukraine controversy.
