President Joe Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Thursday, agreeing to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. While left-leaning articles highlight Israeli objections to American proposals, right-leaning articles highlight agreements between Biden and Lapid.

A left-leaning article from CNN focused on how President Biden seeks diplomacy with Iran to prevent them from obtaining nuclear weapons despite Prime Minister Lapid’s insistence that “words will not stop them. Diplomacy will not stop them… The only way to stop them is to put a credible military threat on the table.” Biden also seeks to revive the Iran Nuclear Deal, a proposal Israel disagrees with.

USA Today published a centrist article reporting on how disagreements between Lapid and Biden disrupted an otherwise “kumbaya” meeting. The U.S. and Israel signed a joint agreement on consensus topics and on emerging technology. The article also discusses Biden met with Benjamin Netanyahu, current opposition leader and former Israeli Prime Minister.

A right-leaning article from Fox News focused on how Biden and Lapid agreed that Iran would never obtain nuclear weapons. Biden stated that ensuring Iran never can build a nuclear weapon is “a vital security interest” and Lapid stated that if Iran continues to deceive the world they “will pay a heavy price.”
