While left-leaning articles highlight that the right-wing media portrays this scrutiny as a biased attack by Democrats, right-leaning articles report that Democrats and the mainstream media are using the coronavirus as a political weapon against Trump.
A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that the right-wing media is portraying the commotion over the coronavirus as a biased attack on a president by Democrats. The pro-Trump media world attributes the losses in the stock market as a consequence of fears deliberately spread by liberals and biased journalists, as opposed to a reaction by investors concerned about how the virus has affected economies around the world.
A centrist article by Newsweek reports that in a Friday letter to HHS Secretary Alexander Azar, Senior Oregon Senator Ron Wyden said the “general public” had been “put at risk” by the Department of Health and Human Services’ handing of quarantined coronavirus patients. The letter came after a whistleblower within the HHS complained that workers were improperly prepared to handle Americans working from Wuhan, China, in that they were not provided with the correct protective gear and were not properly trained in infection control protocols.

The article also notes that on Wednesday, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer told SirusXM’s Dean Obeidallah that the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak will be a political disaster.
