On Monday, Trump flew to California to review wildfire damage, which government officials and scientists have identified as the primary culprit behind the intense wildfires. While left-leaning articles highlight that Biden called Trump a “climate arsonist,” right-leaning articles highlight that Biden’s attack on President Trump was tone-deaf.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that Trump’s Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, attacked the president’s record on climate change on Monday, calling the president a “climate arsonist.” Smoke from the fires continue to foul the air breathed by tens of millions of Americans, with reports showing harmful levels of pollution in major cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

USA Today published a centrist article reporting that Trump insisted during a briefing in Northern California that “forest management” is more to blame, and officials working on the wildfires said the problem will get worse if Trump continues to ignore the impact of climate change. Over the past three weeks, deadly wildfires have destroyed more than 5 million acres in California, Oregon, and Washington.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that Biden’s attack on President Trump was tone-deaf, as the president flew to California to assess the damage done by the widespread fires, while Biden stayed in Delaware. House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz criticized Biden for his term as vice president, where the government “gave him $787 billion to rebuild the infrastructure.”
