We ran the numbers: There are 2,440 news articles covering this topic. 60% (1,462) are left-leaning, 25% (603) are centrist, and 15% (375) are right-leaning.

In a vote of 51-50, the Senate passed the $369 billion Inflation Reduction Act, a big investment in the fight against climate change. While left-leaning articles highlight responses from climate advocates, right-leaning articles highlight responses from Senators.

A left-leaning article from The Washington Post focuses on how many climate advocates view the bill as far from perfect. While it provides new funds to fight global warming, the Inflation Reduction Act also included provisions to support fossil fuel infrastructure.

USA Today published a centrist article reporting on how the Senate bill is the nation’s biggest investment in climate change. Scientific models show that it could help cut U.S. greenhouse emissions by about 40% by 2030.

A right-leaning from Fox News focuses on responses by Senators to the bill. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) stated that “it's the largest package ever for climate, it deals with an energy policy to make sense for this country, reduces the cost of energy, reduces health care costs for millions of Americans, and does it in a way that reduces the deficit and has tax fairness in our code.” Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) said that “this is a night of triumph for them.”
