President Trump and 17 states he carried are joining Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s effort to file a lawsuit in the Supreme Court against four key states in attempt to block electors from finalizing Biden’s victory. While left-leaning articles highlight that out of 50 lawsuits filed around the country that aim to contest Biden’s victory, Trump has lost more than 35, right-leaning articles highlight that the brief filed by Missouri and other states warns that the changes enacted by state executives opened the states’ elections up to potential fraud.

A left-leaning article by The Washington Post highlights that out of 50 lawsuits filed around the country that aim to contest Biden’s victory, Trump has lost more than 35 with others pending. In either case, Biden won 306 votes, so even if Pennsylvania’s results were in doubt, Biden would still win.

NPR published a centrist article reporting that officials in the states targeted in the lawsuit framed it as nothing more than an unfounded publicity stunt. The brief was signed by John Eastman, a conservative law professor at Chapman University.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that the brief filed by Missouri and other states warns that the changes enacted by state executives opened the states’ elections up to potential fraud. The states that joined the Wednesday brief argue they have an interest in the case because the “unconstitutional administration of elections” dilutes votes in their own states.
