On Tuesday, President Trump defended coronavirus testing in the U.S. amid criticism that the country has been slower with tests than other countries. While left-leaning articles highlight many Republicans have condemned Trump’s handling of the corona crisis, right-leaning articles highlight that a New York Times columnist tied Trump’s dishonesty about the outbreak to the global panic.

A left-leaning article by The Washington Post highlights that Trump’s handling of the corona crisis has unsettled many of his Republican allies on Capitol Hill and inside the White House. While top administration officials coordinated coronavirus mitigation efforts with other states and prepared possible emergency economic measures, Trump carried on with his plans.

The Hill published a centrist article reporting that Trump told reporters after a meeting at the Capitol with GOP senators that the coronavirus testing has “gone very well.” The CDC announced that as of Monday it has tested almost 4,900 people, but the Seattle nursing home at the center of the outbreak said on Monday that it doesn’t have enough tests for its 65 employees.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that New York Times columnist Bret Stephens blamed the coronavirus outbreak on President Trump’s feet, declaring that its Trump’s dishonesty about the outbreak that ties him to the global panic. Stephens stated that although the coronavirus isn’t the biggest test of Trump’s presidency, it’s the way that his presidency will be “exposed for the fraud that it is.”
