Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign is calling for Facebook to remove posts from President Trump and his eldest son, who posted a video that included an unsubstantiated claim that the “radical left” was planning to “add millions of fraudulent ballots that can cancel your vote and overturn the election.”

A left-leaning article by Newsweek highlights that the Biden campaign accused Facebook of being the “foremost propagator” of voting disinformation in the country. The correspondence also complained how posts by the president have been flagged but not removed, despite containing false claims about ballots.

A centrist article by The Hill reports that Biden’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillion, wrote that “removing this video should have been the easiest of easy calls under your policies, yet it remains up today.” Andy Stone, a Facebook spokesperson, said the company will continue to apply its rules “impartially” to protect the integrity of the election and free expression.

A right-leaning article by The Daily Caller highlights that Biden and others have criticized Facebook after CEO Mark Zuckerberg refused to remove or flag a Trump post in May referencing “looting and shooting” and “THUGS.” Facebook applied a statement to Trump’s post, saying that “Voting by mail has a long history of trustworthiness in the US and the same is predicted this year.”
