On Thursday, former Vice President Joe Biden suggested that President Donald Trump may try to delay the election in November in order to win. Left-leaning articles highlight that Biden’s comments attempt to frame the president as desperate, while right-leaning articles highlight that Biden and the Democratic National Committee are going to begin joint fundraising.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that Biden’s speculation that President Trump may try to delay or disrupt the election in some way sends a warning signal that attempts to frame the president as desperate. Biden’s remarks also come as a number of polls have shown that many Americans disapprove of the president’s stewardship of the crisis and that he badly trails the nation’s governors in terms of who Americans trust most for guidance.

USA Today published a centrist article reporting that the date of the election is set in federal law, and that Congress sets the “times, places, and manner” of elections. Furthermore, the Postal Service has taken a financial hit during the coronavirus pandemic, which some Democrats have said could endanger voting by mail.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee officially reached an agreement to begin joint fundraising as they aim to oust President Trump from the White House. While Biden hauled in $46.7 million in March and the DNC hauled in $32 million last month, the president’s re-election campaign and the Republican National committee hauled a combined $240 million cash on hand.
