In less than two weeks, more than 100,000 cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide. While left-leaning articles highlight that there are increasing state orders to stay indoors, right-leaning articles emphasize the way coronavirus will affect voting in November.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times reports on recent updates regarding the coronavirus. The article states that soon more than 1 in 5 Americans will be under orders to stay mostly indoors, Senators came close to reaching a deal on a $1 trillion coronavirus rescue plan, and one of Vice President Mike Pence’s staff members has tested positive for the coronavirus.

NPR published a centrist article highlighting that Europe now has the highest rate of new coronavirus cases, with more people dying from the respiratory disease in Italy than in China. The article also notes that to prevent the coronavirus from spreading, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Fox News published a right-leaning article highlighting that a study from the Brennan Center for Justice spotlights that sweeping changes to current voting practices across the county, such as universal mail-in voting, will be required to make voting in November safe. The plan would cost roughly $2 billion and would cover the costs of sending and receiving ballots by mail, as well as the construction and maintenance of ballot boxes.
