We ran the numbers: There are 1997 news articles covering this topic. 34% (680) are left leaning, 47% (933) are center, and 19% (384) are right leaning.
According to a new survey, young Americans favor former Vice President Joe Biden over President Trump, but Trump’s supporters are more enthusiastic about their choice. While left-leaning articles highlight that the number of respondents ages 18-24 who said they planned to vote in 2020 was almost identical to the poll’s findings in 2008, right-leaning articles highlight that 2020 Democratic running mates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not appealing to young African American voters.
A left-leaning article by Forbes highlights that the number of respondents ages 18-24 who said they definitely planned to vote in 2020 was almost identical to the poll’s findings in 2008, which turned out to be a watershed year for voter turnout, resulting in Barack Obama’s first term and Democratic control of the House and Senate. The article also notes that more than 15 million Americans have turned 18 and become eligible to vote since the 2016 election.
A centrist article by NPR reports that according to a poll from the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics, 60% of likely voters under the age of 30 said they will vote for Biden, while 27% said they would vote for Trump. The survey also found that 63% of respondents said they will “definitely” be voting in November’s election, while four years ago, slightly less than half of young Americans polled said they would definitely vote.
A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that 2020 Democratic running mates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not appealing to young African American voters, as Biden sponsored the 1994 Crime Bill. On Sunday, Harris took shots at Trump and Attorney General Bill Barr for comments they made denying there is systemic racism in America’s judicial system.
