Planned Parenthood Endorses Biden

On Monday, Planned Parenthood endorsed Democrat Joe Biden for president. While left-leaning articles highlight Biden’s response to the endorsement, right-leaning articles highlight that the Trump campaign bashed Biden in a statement.
A left-leaning article by NBC News highlights that Biden responded to the endorsement in a statement, in which he said he would do everything in his power to expand access to quality, affordable health care. However, Biden also revealed in his 2007 book that as a Roman Catholic, he personally opposes abortion though he said he wouldn’t impose his religious beliefs on others.
Reuters published a centrist article reporting that Planned Parenthood praised Biden’s role in the passage of the Affordable Care Act when he served as President Barack Obama’s vice president. However, Biden’s record has also drawn skepticism from some advocates during the Democratic primary campaign, as he was for years a supporter of the Hyde Amendment, a law that bans federal funding for most abortions.
Fox News published a right-leaning article reporting that the Trump campaign bashed Biden in a statement, accusing him of being “controlled by the radical ideas” and arguing he would force taxpayers to “foot the bill” for abortions. The Trump campaign statement added that “President Trump is the most pro-life President in history.”
