On Thursday, Former Vice president Joe Biden was caught in a heated exchange with a voter in Iowa, who questioned Biden’s age and his son’s lucrative position at a Ukrainian gas company.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times reports that a voter “falsely claimed” that Biden had “sent” his son to work in Ukraine to sell access to Ukraine to the president, and in response, Biden called the man a “damn liar.” Biden told reporters after the event that he has overwhelming respect and love for his son, and finds himself “occasionally getting frustrated” over assertions “that are simply not accurate.” The article also reports that Biden’s campaign announced that former Secretary of State John F. Kerry was endorsing Biden.

A centrist article by NPR reports that Biden responded to the voter who questioned his age by challenging him to a pushup match, a running competition, and an IQ test. The article notes that Biden’s son, Hunter, has been a frequent target of President Trump’s attacks amid the impeachment inquiry, and that Biden has a long history of confronting voters who challenge him.

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that at one point during the heated confrontation that occured between Biden and a voter in Iowa, Biden appeared to call the man “fat,” stating “Look, fat, look, here’s the deal,” at the end of the exchange. However, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign directed Fox news to Symone Sanders’ tweet, which clarified, "In the latter part of the exchange, the VP began to say 'Look, facts' then said 'here's the deal.' If you've been to a Biden event, you've heard this before."
