Americans appear to be losing faith in what President Donald Trump says about the coronavirus pandemic, according to recent polls. While left-leaning articles highlight former Vice President Biden’s strength among older voters, right-leaning articles highlight Biden’s attacks against Trump’s “downplaying” of the coronavirus.
A left-leaning article by CNN highlights that Biden’s strength among older voters in polls could offer him an unexpected opportunity to broaden the electoral map. While other polls show that Trump is leading with seniors and near seniors, the general trend with older voters is more favorable for Biden than it has been for recent Democratic nominees.
Reuters published a centrist article reporting that according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday, fewer than half of all adults in the U.S. (47%) said they were “very” or “somewhat” likely to follow recommendations Trump makes about the virus. Furthermore, 98% of Americans said they would not try to inject themselves with bleach or other disinfectants if they got the coronavirus, which includes 98% of Democrats and 98% of Republicans.
A right-leaning article by Fox News reports that a top pro-Biden super PAC accused the president of “downplaying” the threat of the coronavirus in a new ad. The White House responded by accusing Biden and his allies of trying to politicize the coronavirus crisis.
