The Democratic National Committee announced that the requirements for presidential candidates to appear at the March 15 debate in Phoenix narrowed the stage for the two frontrunners: former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that the D.N.C. said that candidates will have to win at least 374 delegates each by debate day. While Biden and Sanders have won more than 500 delegates already, Gabbard has only won two. The March Democratic debate, sponsored by CNN and Univision, will be the first since five candidates who participated in the last debate have ended their campaigns.

The Des Moines Register published a centrist article reporting that while the last debate required participants to meet either a delegate or polling threshold, the upcoming debate has dropped the polling requirement. As of Friday afternoon, Biden has about 47% of the total awarded, Sanders has about 41% and Gabbard has less than 1%.

Fox News published a right-leaning article reporting that Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has fired back at the mainstream media for its “willful distortion” of his criticisms of “the establishment.” Multiple MSNBC personalities went after Sanders, rejecting that the “establishment” exists.
