The remaining 7 Democratic candidates sparred on Tuesday at the Democratic Debate in South Carolina. Over the next week, sixteen states and territories will vote.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times reports six takeaways from Tuesday night’s debate. The article reports that it was a messy and unmoderated debate, Sanders took some hits, Warren’s new pitch is that she’s more effective than Sanders, Biden brought up Obama again, Bloomberg bumped his way through the debate, and Buttigieg and Klobuchar had low-impact performances.

NPR published a centrist article highlighting that Sanders ended the debate with the most speaking time, outpacing Senator Elizabeth Warren, who held this title at the halfway mark. Furthermore, the candidates criticized the Trump administration’s coronavirus response, which Trump responded to in a tweet.

A right-leaning article by The New York Post highlights that the Democratic presidential debate quickly “degenerated into a schoolyard screaming match Tuesday night.” The article also states that former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg went on a long tangent about how Sanders would cost Democrats the House majority, while Biden shot back when Buttigieg and other candidates tried to cut him off after the moderator specifically called on him to speak.
