The day before the South Carolina primary, seven Democratic candidates will debate in Charleston, S.C.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that the debate will be a critical test for former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, who needs to bounce back after his dismal performance at last week’s debate. Furthermore, an NBC News/Marist College poll of South Carolina released on Monday a report that gave Joe Biden 27 percent support among likely Democratic primary voters compared with 23 percent for Sanders and 15 percent for Tom Steyer.

A centrist article by NPR reports that as the frontrunner, Sanders will be targeted by his opponents. Furthermore, South Carolina is a must-win for Biden, while Warren will be a wild card in the debate. The article also notes that Buttigieg and Klobuchar need to differentiate themselves after lackluster finishes in Nevada.

Fox News published a right-leaning article reporting that a main daily newspaper in Charleston issued a warning to voters in the state regarding “dirty tricks or nasty campaigning in SC Democratic primary.” The article also highlights a new Fox Nation show called Proving Grounds: South Carolina, which delves into the history of “rough-and-tumble” politics in South Carolina.
