An aggregation of recent opinion polls show that the public’s approval of Trump’s job performance and specific handling of the coronavirus are now on a downward turn. While left-leaning articles highlight Trump’s drop-off in approval ratings, right-leaning articles note a poll that more Americans trust Trump to handle the virus than former Vice President Joe Biden.

The New York Times published a left-leaning article highlighting that some of Trump’s drop-off in approval ratings is occurring among groups Trump needs to retain during re-election, with fifty-five percent of people 65 and older saying that Trump could be doing more. Roughly seven out of ten Americans said the federal government should be doing more to address shortages in personal protective equipment and medical devices.

A centrist article by NPR highlights that 48.9% of Americans disapprove of Trump's job performance, while 46.8% approve. The article also notes that Dr. Anthony Fauci offered a brighter prediction on the virus’s possible effects, lowering the estimated death toll to around 60,000 deaths, from previous forecasts of 100,000 to 200,000.

A right-leaning article by The Daily Caller reports that more Americans approve of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s handling of coronavirus than Trump’s. The article also notes that a poll from Politico published Wednesday indicated that more Americans trust Trump to handle the virus than former Vice President Joe Biden.
