In the month of July, President Trump’s campaign outraised Biden’s campaign by $25 million and surpassed the $1 billion mark for the 2020 cycle. While left-leaning articles highlight that Biden outraised Trump in the two previous months, right-leaning articles highlight that Biden struggled to bring in cash for much of his campaign.
A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that Biden had outraised Trump in the two previous months, the first time he had outraised President Trump. While the Biden campaign did not break down how much of its total came from six-figure contributions, it said that 97 percent of donations had been from “grass-roots” donors.
A centrist article by The Hill highlights that the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee combined to raise $165 million in July, compared with $140 million for Biden. The Biden campaign said it has $294 million in the bank, with an increase of $50 million from last month.
A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that the combined Trump campaign/RNC haul is a record and up more than $30 million from June. The article notes that Biden struggled to bring in cash for much of his campaign, raising just $8.9 million in January and $18 million in February.
