The World Health Organization announced Wednesday that the COVID-19 viral disease is a global pandemic. While left-leaning articles highlight that President Trump’s address sent stock markets deeper into a meltdown, right-leaning articles highlight that the administration’s ban saved the U.S. concern.

A left-leaning article by The New York Times highlights that on Wednesday night, President Trump blocked visitors from continental Europe to the United States. The president’s address sent stock markets deeper into a meltdown, as the N.B.A. suspended its season altogether and universities, businesses, and theatres shut their doors.

NPR published a centrist article reporting that eight countries, including the U.S., has reported more than 1,000 cases of COVID-19. The WHO dubbed COVID-19 as a pandemic, putting it in a different category than several recent deadly outbreaks, such as Ebola and the Zika virus.

A right-leaning article by Fox News reports that the Trump administration’s coronavirus travel ban has saved the U.S. concern and suffering. The article also claims that the Biden campaign cancelled their rally in Ohio and are “using the coronavirus as an excuse.”
