On Thursday, former Vice President Joe Biden unveiled a “Buy American” economic plan that calls for a $700 billion jobs package. While left-leaning articles highlight that Biden’s plan won praise from liberal leaders, right-leaning articles highlight that Biden is controlled by the Democratic party.

The Washington Post published a left-leaning article highlighting that Biden’s announcement marked an effort by Biden to lay out his agenda in more detail. Biden’s plan won praise from liberal leaders, as Biden’s new platform focuses heavily on using the power of the federal government to promote a U.S. domestic manufacturing base.

Newsweek published a centrist article reporting that Biden’s “Buy American” plan calls for $400 billion to be spent on American manufacturing. The plan is inspired by Senator Elizabeth Warren’s platform. Adam Green, co-founder of Warren allies, The Progressive Change Campaign Committee, said the plan “represents Biden going big.”

A right-leaning article by Fox News highlights that Donald Trump Jr. criticized Biden on “Hannity,” stating that the “radical left entirely controls Joe Biden and the party.” Donald Trump Jr. also stated that Biden is benefitting from “liberal privilege.”
