On Tuesday, House Democrats unveiled a new coronavirus relief package that would inject more than $3 trillion into the economy. While left-leaning articles highlight that the package does not include policies to boost renewable forms of energy, right-leaning articles highlight that the package gives illegal immigrants “amnesty.”

A left-leaning article by The Washington Post highlights that the relief package does not include any new policies to boost renewable forms of energy and wean the country off of fossil fuels. Green groups and Democrats on the left are growing increasingly frustrated with relief bills that don’t turn off the spigot of aid money being distributed to ailing oil and gas companies.

The Hill published a centrist article reporting that President Trump declared House Democrats’ $3 trillion House coronavirus bill “dead on arrival.” The bill is unlikely to garner any Republican support in either chamber of Congress, as it includes various Democratic priorities and is intended to put pressure on Republicans to start negotiations on help for workers and local governments.

Fox News published a right-leaning article highlighting that the new coronavirus relief package released by Democrats includes protections for illegal immigrants who work in jobs declared “essential,” which Republicans are blasting as an attempt at “amnesty.” The legislation also expands the next round of stimulus checks to include those who file taxes via an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, which would allow those checks to go to illegal immigrants.
